Legendary golfer Andy Bean died Saturday after issues from double lung substitute surgical procedure final month, the PGA Tour confirmed. He was 70.

Bean was an 11-time PGA Tour winner. His first victory got here in 1977 on the Doral-Japanese Open, and his most up-to-date victory was in 1986 on the Byron Nelson Golf Basic in Texas.

Bean was additionally victorious thrice on the Champions Tour.

He was born March 13, 1953, in Lafayette, Georgia, and performed golf for the Florida Gators

Throughout his time at Florida, Bean competed on a staff that featured future PGA Tour gamers Gary Koch, Woody Blackburn, Phil Hancock and present Augusta Nationwide Golf Membership chairman Fred Ridley.

Bean reportedly began having respiratory bother after a battle with COVID-19. He underwent a double lung transplant in September.
