A ‘Monk’ reunion film is coming to Peacock | CNN



“Monk” is returning.

Tony Shalhoub will resume his titular function in “Mr. Monk’s Final Case: A Monk Film,” which premieres on Dec. 8 on Peacock.

“It’s been twelve years because the world has seen a contemporary installment of ‘Monk.’ The world has modified mightily in these intervening years and ‘Monk’ 2023 displays the altering world,” government producers Andy Breckman, David Hoberman and Randy Zisk stated in a press release.

Within the sequence, Shalhoub performed detective Adrian Monk, a personality who lives with obsessive-compulsive dysfunction. In accordance with the official movie synopsis, Monk returns to resolve a “very private case involving his beloved step-daughter Molly, a journalist getting ready for her wedding ceremony.”

Additionally returning for the film are Melora Hardin, Ted Levine, Traylor Howard, Jason Grey-Stanford, and Hector Elizondo.

Breckman, who created the sequence, wrote the movie.

“Monk” ran for eight seasons and Shalhoub gained the Emmy for greatest actor in a comedy sequence thrice.
